My yoga Journey
From the Storm to the Source

The Spark in the Chaos
My introduction to yoga didn’t happen in a serene ashram or a specialized studio; it began in the middle of a storm. In my early twenties, I was burning the candle at both ends at university, struggling under a heavy cloak of insomnia, chronic headaches, and constant anxiety.
Searching for any kind of relief, I stepped into a local gym yoga class. I felt an immediate shift. Around that same time, I quite literally stumbled upon a book titled Yoga Therapy. Using the practices within its pages, I navigated a remarkably tough chapter of my life. It was my first tangible proof: Yoga is a profound technology for healing.

Returning to the Mat
As life often does, things moved forward. I built a career and a family, and for many years, yoga faded into the background. It wasn't until my mid-forties that the call of the mat became too loud to ignore.

I found my way to Zero Point Yoga, falling in love with the fiery flow of Vinyasa and the quiet surrender of Yin. But it was the philosophy—the "why" behind the movement—that truly captivated me. This curiosity led me to a transformative program called 40 Days and 40 Nights. That experience was the ultimate catalyst; it lit a spark for Sadhana (dedicated practice) and set me firmly on the path to becoming the yoga therapist I am today.

The Evolution of My Practice
My training has been a journey of balancing opposites:

  • Effort & Ease: After completing my initial 250-hour Vinyasa training at Zero Point Yoga with Rebecca Duffield, I studied Yin Yoga with Angus Knott. It flipped my perspective entirely, teaching me to stop forcing and start restoring.

  • The Healing Toolkit: I pursued 150 hours of Yoga Therapy with the Santosha Yoga Institute and spent time in Byron Bay with Peter Clifford. This is where I fell in love with the Five Element Form—a deeply healing, flowing practice that I find so much joy in sharing because it is accessible to everybody.

  • Somatic Release: To better understand how we hold stress, I completed Myofascial Release training with Gabriel Harris, learning how to release the physical and emotional stories our bodies store.

  • The Himalayan Connection: Discovering the Himalayan integrated practice inspired me to complete my Level 1 (200hr) training online, opening the door to a much deeper, traditional layer of the practice.

Reclaiming the Spiritual Heart
A monumental turn came when I fully immersed myself in the Himalayan integrated practice. Experiencing the traditions of Kriya and breathwork felt like coming home. I realized that in the West, we often divorce yoga from its spiritual roots, yet for me, that connection is where the real transformation lives.

This realization led me on a pilgrimage to Rishikesh, India, where I fulfilled a long-held dream to study at the source of yoga. Completing my Level 2 (300hr) advanced certification in person was life-changing—an immersion in depth, love, and ancient wisdom that I now bring back to every class and therapy session in Australia.

Why I Do This
I am, and always will be, a "forever student." I am currently working toward full accreditation with the Yoga Therapy Institute of Australia and have my sights set on my Master’s training in 2027.
While I love the energy of a community class, I believe the most potent transformation happens one-on-one. Yoga is a journey from the self, through the self, to the self. My passion is helping you curate a practice designed just for you—using these ancient technologies to restore balance, heal deeply, and help you find your way back to your center.

I look forward to walking this path with you.
Namaste.
